One of the best calls I received this week was from Molly - asking if I would attend her birthday party with her family on Friday evening (last night) and if I would make her a cake - yellow cake with vanilla frosting. Not my most requested cake... but I'll give it a shot... and we'll do flowers since she's very into the girly stuff lately.... what 13 year old with a boyfriend isn't?
And then there was much blowing out of candles....
And gifts of course.... a purse from me, but the highlight was a cell phone from her mom and step-dad.
We all had a nice evening and while I didn't get a picture of it, the highlight for me was Molly, Nate and I all sitting/laying together on the loveseat and chilling out for a while before Nate headed to bed (sick all week and worn out, the poor thing). Just a little choked up as I left their house, but knowing that at least no one else will ever get the request for the birthday cake making but me.... Molly has now put her name in for my car when I'm ready to get rid of it - maybe just in time for her 16th, 17th or 18th birthday.... LOL!
Have a good day everyone - I'm on deck for more baking - Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese frosting.... for our murder mystery dinner tonight on behalf of my dad's 60th birthday. More pictures to come from that event.
